Unlike many devices, optical discs are not obsolete yet. They are still useful for backing up data and for other purposes. Burn can help you write or re-write any data on your optical discs. The application keeps everything simple, with its straightforward functionality. All you have to do is choose what kind of disc you wish to burn, load your files and click a button. Despite its simplicity, Burn still offers a wide array of useful features.

The application allows you to burn data, audio and video CDs and you can also copy CDs or virtual images. You can prepare these operations on separate tabs, on a compact user interface. Furthermore, Burn provides support for many file systems, so you can make sure that your CDs can be loaded on any machine, regardless of the used operating system. When burning random data, you can choose the HFS+ system for Mac or Joliet for PC, from a drop menu. Also, the application can make the CD compatible with both PC and Mac or create a UDF DVD.

When it comes to burning audio files, you can decide to create a normal audio CD, an MP3 CD or an audio DVD. Video files can be written on a VCD, SVCD or on a DivX CD. Additionally, you can use your videos to create a video DVD. If your files are not in the right format, the application will convert them for you. If you decide to create a video DVD, you can set the application to force a 4:3 aspect, an MPEG2 encoding, to mux separate audio and video files and make other fine tweaks.

Pros

Preparing a burning process is a straightforward procedure. You may create data, audio or video CDs and DVDs. Also, the application supports various file systems, so you can make your disc compatible with any operating system.

Cons

There are no serious issues to mention. When it comes to burning data on optical discs, everything can be done much faster and easier with Burn.
